Manufacturers and promoter owned businesses
Books in Tally or Zoho, a small accounts team, plenty of compliance, and a promoter who wants a straight answer on why margins moved.
Coming soon
LedgerByte sits on top of the accounting software you already use, whether that's Tally, Zoho Books, SAP Business One or NetSuite. It reads your ledger and does the monthly analysis your team does by hand today, so you get faster and more reliable reporting without adding people.
Read only. It can see your books but can't change them. Every number it reports links back to the entries it came from, and you keep the accounting software you have.

Travel came in 80 over budget, mostly from two customer visits to Rotterdam.1 Raw material costs rose after a supplier put its prices up on 1 March.2 One invoice looks like it was booked twice and is worth checking before close.3
Also flagged: a Porsche Cayenne bought in January was written off 100% in its first year. Company cars are normally depreciated over several years, so this one needs a closer look.4
What if
The checks, bank matching and variance work run by themselves once the month is booked. Your team reviews the results rather than building them from scratch.
Each month the actuals come in and replace the estimates, and the rolling forecast moves with them. You can see what changed and why.
Duplicates, expenses sitting in the wrong account and entries that break local rules show up in a list, with the ledger lines attached.
Statements, variances and a written commentary get drafted for you. You read it, change what you want and approve it.
Ask in plain words. You'll get a short answer along with the entries behind it.
The problem
Excel and Tally reports stop being enough once you have a few entities, a proper budget and a board asking questions. Tools like Anaplan or OneStream are built for much bigger companies, and the price and rollout reflect that.
So people fill the gap. A controller on staff, a fractional CFO, an outsourced firm, and a lot of late evenings. Month end drags on for days. Budgets get rebuilt from last year's file. And audit season turns into a scramble, because the problems surface when the auditor finds them rather than when your team could have fixed them quietly.
How it works
Give LedgerByte read only access to your accounting system. It can't post, edit or delete anything, and setup is designed to be quick.
Ordinary code does every calculation, from reconciliations and variances to consolidation and forecasts. The same data always gives the same numbers.
The AI writes up what happened and answers your questions, pointing to the entries it used. Someone on your team reads it, edits it and signs off.
Numbers you can trust
The real worry with AI in finance is a confident answer that turns out to be wrong. So we keep the two jobs apart. Every figure is worked out by tested code, never by the AI. The AI only writes the explanation, and it has to cite the entries it's talking about.
If a number can't be traced back to the ledger, it doesn't go in the report. Nothing is posted to your books, and nothing goes out until someone on your team approves it.
Take the travel line from the report above. Click it and you'd see this.
| Entry | Description | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| JE 10482 | Customer visit, Rotterdam | 96 |
| JE 10517 | Customer visit, Rotterdam | 74 |
| JE 10390 | Regular travel for March | 120 |
| Travel and conveyance | 290 |

Who it's for
We're building for CFOs, heads of finance, group controllers and owners who still check every number, at companies with somewhere between $5M and $250M in revenue.
India
Books in Tally or Zoho, a small accounts team, plenty of compliance, and a promoter who wants a straight answer on why margins moved.
UAE and Saudi Arabia
Different entities and currencies, and a group board that wants one consolidated picture with the currency effects spelled out.
Asia Pacific
Subsidiaries in a few countries and a finance team that hasn't grown as fast as the business. Investors want the numbers on time, and they want to know why they changed.
An assistant
LedgerByte is there to help your finance team. It isn't an accounting system, it doesn't do payroll or HR, and it isn't an auditor. It won't replace your people either. It takes the repetitive analysis off their desks so a small team can cover what used to need a bigger one.
Security and data
Questions
No. It sits on top of it, and your team keeps booking entries where they do today.
No, access is read only. If something looks wrong it shows your team the entry and the reason, and your team decides whether to fix it in your own system.
We'll confirm hosting locations before launch. The goal is regional hosting for India, the Gulf and Asia Pacific, and you'll know where your data sits before you connect. Customer data isn't used to train AI models.
Your finance team, same as now. Every figure is calculated by code and linked to its source entries, so your team can check it before signing off. The AI writes the explanations but it doesn't make the call.
No. It helps you catch problems before the audit, but it doesn't give audit opinions or any kind of assurance.
Tally Prime, Zoho Books, SAP Business One and NetSuite to start with. If you use something else, pick Other when you sign up so we know.
We'll open early access in stages. People on the list hear first, and we'll email you when there's a place for your company.
